LET IT SNOW!

As I write this it is December 22 and there is no snow in sight.  Instead I got soaking wet this morning with an early spring-like downpour.  This is Central New York folks, where is the snow.  I prefer my christmas lights covered with the white stuff.  This storytime is in hope that we will see snow soon, as it should be.

Hello Chant: (Slap thighs and clap hands in rhythm.  I usually let the kids choose opposites to do or sometimes we do animal sounds.)

Snowballs by Lois Ehlert

 Children create a family of snow.  The illustrations require you to flip the book which makes it even more interesting for the kids.

   Rhyming story of a worrywart who wants to go outside to play but can't help but think of all the worst case scenarios.  It is one of my favorite winter read-alouds.  It is a great intro to our next action song.

A boy just as frustrated about the lack of snow as me is excited as a small snowflake finally turns into a "big snow"
