HUGS AND KISSES

Book: Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney

During a bedtime game, every time Little Nutbrown Hare demonstrates how much he loves his father, his father shows him that the love is returned even more.

Song: "Skidamarink"
Skidamarink a dinka dink. (put right elbow in left hand and wiggle fingers)
Skidamarink a doo. (put left elbow in right hand and wiggle fingers)
I love you. (point to eyes, hug yourself, and point to others)

Skidamarink a dink a dink. (repeat actions)
Skidamarink a doo.
I love you.
I love you in the morning. (make a big circle over head like the sun)
And in the afternoon.  (hold arms in circle out in front of you)
I love you in the evening. (move arms in circle down)
And underneath the moon. (release arms and make another big circle over head)
Skidamarink a dinka dink.
Skidamarink a doo.

I love you.

Book: My Heart is Like a Zoo by Michael Hall

Using hearts to illustrate animals, rhyming text shows how love can be many things.  Very neat book.

Flannel Board: "Six Little Valentines"
Six little Valentines were sent to my house,
The first one said, "I love you, From Mouse."
Six little Valentine's in my mailbox,

The second one said, "Be mine, Love Fox."
Six little Valentines full of love,

The third one said, "You are sweet, From Dove."
Six little Valentines just for me,

The fourth one said, "Be my honey, Love Bee."
Six little Valentines mailed with care,

The fifth one said, "Here's a hug, From Bear."
The last little Valentine, from my friend Jay,

This one said, "Happy Valentine's Day!"

Song/Rhyme:There's a heart on my head on my head...

Book: Who Loves the Little Lamb? by Lezlie Evans

Rhyming text reveals that, although baby animals are not always perfect, their mothers love them and help them through difficult moments.

Rhyme:
There's something in my pocket?
Could it be a moose?
Could it be a train with a bell and a caboose?
Could it be a snake or some sticky glue?
Right here in my pocket is a KISS from me to you!

 Goodbye Song:
Up down, turn around
Touch the sky and touch the ground
Pat your belly
Blink your eyes
Blow a kiss and say "Goodbye"
